I agree with almost everything she says, but I also found myself zoning out because I already know the issues and statistics so well, and I wasn't really the target audience for this book.Īlthough the writing was clumsy and repetitive at times, I think this could be a great resource for white women looking to learn how to be better allies, particularly to people of color. ![]() Kendall makes the argument that all these needs are feminist causes that need addressing, especially in poor communities/hoods where survival is paramount. I'm a black feminist, and most of this book is focused on educating white feminists on issues they may not typically consider feminist or associate with the feminist movement - such as housing, food, and education. The reasons for that, however, are mostly personal. This was a good book, but I had trouble finishing it. ![]()
